Door Data Systems Fire Door Registrations

Fire door Registration

Every custom fire door we build is given a unique Digital ID and registered on the National Fire door Register.

Each door is fitted with an NFC (Near Field Communication) scannable data tag. This tag is permanently assigned a unique 16 digit alphanumeric ID number. This tag is installed into the hinge stile, and can be seen as a 6mm round dot on the surface.

As part of the door manufacturing process, each door is individually registered on the cloud based National Fire door Register which is maintained by Door Data Systems. The door is registered with detailed information including project name, manufacturer name, door size and construction method. Any hardware installed or supplied by Heritage is also registered. Documents are uploaded against the doors record, including the doors certification documentation and installation information that should be followed to ensure certification is maintained. Additionally any relevant photos are also uploaded against the doors record

Once the project is complete, all of the doors are transferred across to the nominated contact, whether that is the project architect, contractor or the customer. At this point, the customer can access and update all of the doors information. There is no charge for this service as the cost is part of the original door order.

For inspectors, surveyors, and compliance professionals, inspectors can optionally upgrade the software to use as a door maintenance and data capture system. Inspectors can capture findings directly against the door’s history. Inspections can be completed quickly using typed or voice-activated inputs, with photographic evidence and component-level details.

The platform supports a risk-based assessment model, enabling inspectors to classify doors by condition and urgency—nominal, notional, or in need of repair or replacement—providing a complete and accurate picture of building compliance.
